Real photos and AI images: how to tell, and why it matters.
AI images are not the problem. Images that pretend to be real are. These guides show the checks that work today, what labels can and cannot prove, and how to avoid sharing something nobody took.

Questions
How can I tell if a photo is AI-generated?
Use several checks together: the source, a reverse image search, metadata and Content Credentials, and a close look at details. No single test is reliable on its own.
Are AI image detectors reliable?
Not on their own. They can flag real photos as AI and miss new models. Use them as one signal, never as proof against a person.
Is AI art a problem?
No. AI art is a legitimate choice when it is labeled. The problem is AI images presented as real photos.
How does Rawly verify a photo?
Photos on Rawly are taken live in the app, with no gallery upload. Every shared photo carries a code; rawly.app/verify shows our copy and the minute it was taken. It proves when, not who, and only for photos taken in Rawly.
